Lovingly overseeing the earth is the eyes of gods, confusedly myopic is the eyes of human. Deceived by the illusory appearances of things, men do not get to see the timelessness and wholeness as beheld by gods. 2000 years ago, Plato sees through early trivia the timeless, absolute, unchangeable ideas. And 100 years ago, Constantin Brâncuși carves out the “ideal” shape of women that transcends their diverse external looks, while echos to their purest of souls. It is a shape that stunningly resembles the earth.
VEGA ZAISHI WANG spring/summer 20' collection, named “Revelation of Gaia”, is inspired by the sublime but intricate beauty of the earth. As Brâncuși created his beautiful works of art from the natural material, all the pieces in this collection make use of the texture of the material to curve out the female natural curves.
